FIRST Robotics Levels at Cedar Park

CPCRC participates in age appropriate levels of the FIRST robotics programs.  Students are placed on teams in the appropriate level based primarily on grade level.  For returning students in grades 3, 5 and 8 their may be a choice of which level to participate at depending on the student's motivation and capabilities.   The different program levels are described below.   For information on Cedar Park Christian's First Robotics Competition (FRC) team which competes in the most advanced level of F​​​IRST Robotics see the CPR web site.

Grades K - 3

FIRST LEGO League Jr. gives early elementary school students and their adult Coaches the opportunity to work and create together while they explore science and technology concepts. 

Grades 3 - 5

Design, build, and program a series of robots on the WeDo 2.0 platform designed to sequentially challenge your student to understand mechanical concepts and beginning programming concepts in a fun collaborative Christian environment.  Depending on number of students and mentor availability, returning elementary students may be placed on an advanced elementary team and work with the Ev3 system.

Grades 5 -8

Competitive and fun First Lego League Robotics Team. Research and solve a real world problem. Present your solution. Build team skills and unity. Share your faith with the larger robotics community in our state. Teams use the Lego EV3 platform to design, build, and program a robot with sensors to navigate a series of obstacles in fully autonomous mode to participate in the robot games.

Grade 8-12

First Tech Challenge Team designs, builds, programs, and promotes a 18"x18"x18" metal robot running on an android platform to compete in the 2017-2018 Robot game. Learn real world mechanical engineering, programming, marketing, and teamwork skills in a supportive, fun and challenging environment. Share your faith with others in our state, region, and possibly world. Compete for millions of dollars in available scholarships.
